Summer Solstice

Driving to Sheridan, Wyoming

Colorado mountains look fantastic as we whizzed by on I-25 heading north. Buckies or Buc-ees is a gigantic new attraction that appears to be very popular — gotta check out world’s largest car wash and cleanest bathrooms! I wonder how it has impacted Johnson’s Corner, the highway staple that has been there as long as I can remember for gasoline and massive cinnamon rolls.

We’re on our way for a quick visit with the Hartman’s before heading toward the Tetons. We always like the drive — wide open spaces in Wyoming make you feel free. As usual, the wind is blowing, and today is one of those blue skies, sunshine and fluffy white clouds kind of day. We are always happy to cross the state line into Wyoming — my second home.

A Wyoming photographer, Michael Magill, captured this image in Chugwater recently —the iconic photograph captures the image of Steamboat the legendary bucking horse, the logo which symbolizes Wyoming and my alma mater, the University of Wyoming. Fantastic!

Northern Wyoming looks fantastic and green. It refreshes my soul. The Hartman’s have created a lovely oasis at the Powderhorn and their gardening has paid off in beautiful ways.
