Classy Colorado

As much as I enjoy exploring, tasting new cuisines and admiring monuments, Colorado’s Rocky Mountains are right in our own back yard and autumn is when it really shows off, so to the mountains we must go! Its crazy to ignore this magnificent show for free. This year has been the best in memory, reportedly because the wetter than usual summer and long transition into Fall without wind and snow. It all yields a bounty of golden quaking aspen and show-stopping scenes around every bend in the road. We make it our annual tradition to make a day-long drive through the nearby scenery and we got an extra exciting surprise of a moose viewing on the Guanella Pass road. A female moose was munching on the low-hanging branches while the well-endowed male sporting a large rack stood guard nearby. I’m always thrilled to see wildlife in natural settings and was happy to get a few hasty shots.
