Slit to Milna, Brac Island, Croatia
Dalmatian Coast, Adriatic Sea
Sailing to Brac from Split was a refreshing, fun and relaxing day admiring incredible scenery of green islands, blue calm seas, brilliant sunshine, outcroppings of homes, and other sail and motor boats. We enjoyed an afternoon of brews, Rummikub, snacks, getting familiar with our boat, the Panta Rei, our delightful crew, and lots of laughs. Jerry and Steve cooled off with a bracing dip in the water. Our Captain Pino along with first mate and hostess Nika welcomed us to the beautiful boat, got us settled and began spoiling us with smiling service and explanations of the island itinerary, which is subject to changing weather conditions. A downpour in the early morning in Spilt gave way to sun, pretty clouds and a cool breeze, but Captain predicted more unexpected weather ahead.
We docked in Milna, a charming sea-side village, along with a variety of boats, we decided on a short taxi ride to a small, family-owned olive orchard and sheep farm for a truly authentic farm-to-table dinner with plenty of local wines, delicious sheep milk cheese and grilled lamb. A unique dining experience topped off with the requisite gelato and a stroll along the dock.
