Lima: Crown Jewel of Latin America

Lima was established in the 1533 by Spanish conquistadors. A bustling city know as the crown jewel of Latin America, with a population of about 1/3 of the entire country.

Lima doesn’t get heavy rains, but earthquakes are frequent in Peru. It is not hot, and we’re enjoying mild temperatures and cloudy days.

Known for a distinctive culture and cuisine, it also boasts great shopping, particularly for the colorful local handicrafts. I’ll try to do my part to help the economy!

In the Barranco neighborhood, there were several art galleries, renovated colonial buildings, and the Osma Museum filled with art and artifacts. Much of the early colonial art portrays the Spanish and Catholic influences.
