Arabian Sea

As we sail toward Oman across the Arabian Sea, we had a fun night at the Indian party dressing in our Indian costumes and enjoying Indian cuisine.

Oman is located on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, bordered by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the northwest, Saudi Arabia to the west, and Yemen to the southwest. Its coastline stretches along the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. The capital city of Oman is Muscat, which is also the largest city in the country. Muscat is known for its stunning architecture, historic landmarks, and vibrant souks (markets).

Oman's landscape features rugged mountains, vast deserts, and a long coastline. The country is home to the Al Hajar Mountains, which are renowned for their dramatic scenery and wadis (valleys).

Oman is officially known as the Sultanate of Oman and has been ruled by the Al Said dynasty since the 18th century. The current Sultan of Oman is Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, who ascended to the throne in 2020.

Oman is known for its political stability and peaceful coexistence. It maintains friendly relations with neighboring countries and plays a constructive role in regional and international affairs. Oman has a rich cultural heritage influenced by its maritime history, Bedouin traditions, and Islamic religion. Oman's economy is primarily based on oil exports but recently years, the government has been diversifying the economy.

Next stop is Muscat, Oman #16; followed by three UAE ports and ending this leg in Dubai.
