Umbria Umani

Blue skies, brilliant sunshine, tomatoes, basil, olives and of course the tasty wines of Umbria were a nice contrast to the rainy weather in Normandy. Torre Bisenzio is a lovely picturesque villa, organic farm and an winery making award-winning white and red wines. Described as Italy’s best-kept secret, Umbria is a rural paradise of rolling hills, quaint hill towns and vineyards and grape groves as far as you can see. The Bisenzio estate features lodging rebuilt from centuries-old original farm ruins, infused with Italian country charm and modern technology, beautiful grounds surrounded with rows of lavender, an infinity swimming pool and garden brimming with succulent ripe tomatoes, lettuce, basil, and herbs. There are eight lovely en suites rooms in the rustic, elegant and modern villa and we are joined by a fun-loving group of seven couples who are all friends and/relatives of the Wise’s. We love everything about this place and are planning a memorable week of exploring the grounds and winery as well as little visits to Orvieto and Sienna, coupled with naps in the shade, chef-prepared dinners and wine tastings.
