Moorea, French Polynesia

Two words: island paradise. This little tropical gem is only 10 miles across, a mass of lush mountain peaks, white sandy beaches and those picturesque thatched roof huts on the shore. It is surrounded by the most beautiful clear water — various shades of sparkling cerulean, turquoise, emerald and sapphire — hard to describe without adjectives!

Moorea is a a close neighbor to its more famous neighbor, Tahiti, but some say this is the better destination for a heavenly tropical vacation, smaller population, more charming. We will soon find out.

I chose to explore the island via a catamaran cruise while my energetic hubby toured the island on e-bike. Both were simply awesome ways to spend four hours and led up to local liquid refreshments. I got to see dolphins gracefully putting on a show too!
