Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

Christopher Columbus dropped anchor just off this coast in 1502. The country is known for eco-tourism and a rain forest full of exotic critters, birds, reptiles, butterflies, and of course, sloths. There are two kinds of sloths, two toed and three toed, and it would be fun to see them. Fortunately I was rewarded by a sloth sighting from the tour bus! It was even moving!!

Arriving at 8 am and departing at 3 did not leave much time to explore this country, so maximizing every minute was our goal. Jerry zip lined through the rainforest canopy. I went on a terrific nature walk at the Veragua Rainforest where a foundation is actively working to perverse the many species including frogs, snakes, mammals, butterflies habitats. Incredible and inspiring!
